After completing this course, participants should be able to: Cont.

  • Know the minimum operational requirements (sanitary and safety requirements) related the design and operation of tattoo establishments, temporary establishments, and guest tattoo artists.
  • Know the standard precautions and available PPE’s to prevent transmission of Bloodborne Pathogens & Common Skin Infections.
  • Know the basics of infection control, sterilization, autoclave, and aseptic techniques used to sterilize instruments in tattoo establishments.
  • Know the steps to take following an exposure incident.

 

Course Approvals/Acceptance: Online “Bloodborne Pathogens for Tattoo Artists & Piercers (Except CA, FL, MN, New York City)” training for body art professionals is approved / accepted by almost all State licensing agencies, local public health departments for initial and license renewal. Some States / Local Health Departments / Licensing Agencies do not endorse or approve bloodborne pathogens classes or trainers, but accept body art industry specific courses that meet OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29CFR 1090.1030 requirements. We strongly encourage you to check with your State/Local licensing agency for most current requirements to obtain/renew body art license and bloodborne pathogens courses accepted by them.  We have made extensive efforts to have our course approved by most State/Local agencies who have their own review process to approve courses. It is your responsibility to check with the health department or jurisdiction where you will be working to ensure that the BBP certificate is accepted to apply for or renew body art permit.
