Master Tattoo Institute is a proud partner of the Florida Health Department to get you certified. We’re dedicated to helping you succeed in any way that we can help. Getting licensed may vary from state to state, however every state will require certification as part of the requirements. MTI is an approved school by the Florida Health Department to get you certified, which is a universal certification. Always be sure to verify with your state requirements and please advise your admissions representative if your state requires more than certification.
Work legally and be safe. We understand the norm has always been to start tattooing from home on friends and family (what are friends for of course). But did you know that you’re exposing yourself to the risk of a 3rd degree felony and/or lawsuit? Posting images on social media is a great way to get the word out to show how good you’ve been getting, but posting while working illegally can also expose you to authorities. Of course, the biggest exposure is a lawsuit. Any mistake while working illegally can mean very expensive legal trouble. So let’s get legal so everyone can sleep better at night, and you can have a lot more respect for your professional career.

MTI is proud to offer students the opportunity to get licensed in Florida through our approved campus facility in Miami Beach. Being licensed in Florida for certain periods of time can also be used to transfer that license to your state. Please be sure to verify with your state requirements and restrictions or contact an admissions representative to learn more about adding a program that will get you licensed.

Yes, we offer certification for Body Piercing, Tattooing, and Cosmetic Tattooing

We offer BBP (Blood-borne Pathogens) certification, and we offer you a certification for hours of completion

In most cases yes, if only a BBP certification is required. In some states, you are required to have more than just BBP. For those states they also require a certain number of hours of training completed, which our institute can usually meet. In some states no, because those states require that you must attend a tattoo school in their state to be licensed such as Oregon or Minnesota. For those states, there is still a way for MTI to get you licensed in Florida, and then have it transferred to your state. Requirements apply and differ from state to state, so please contact your local municipality to get information on licensing requirements and transfers for your state.

Tattoo licenses are never given by schools. Schools are responsible for certification and completing training hours, in which case the school must be licensed and certified. Licenses are given by each state’s regulatory bodies by either your local city hall, or state health department, and typically require your certification and/or completion of training hours from a licensed school
